Challenge:

A South African producer of natural ingredients had a strong national footprint selling primary ingredients to local food processors. They wanted to explore opportunities to diversify their client portfolio through export or value added steps.

Solution:

Afri-Trade identified overseas food manufacturers which made use of primary ingredients and introduced the company to them. Further, Afri-Trade identified companies with a strong Research & Development department to assist with the creation of value-added products. Subsequently, a two pronged approach was developed to benefit from lucrative export markets.

Result:

Afri-Trade facilitated the conclusion of three long term supplier agreements selling primary products. Moreover, a joint venture was formed with a leading international food producer to develop innovative products for the convenience industry.
